The story so far...

Force Five
Chapter 1 – Void

Emily Vanis yawned and blinked at her alarm clock. It flashed 9:23 pm, but that didn’t mean much. The alarm clock was broken. Blearily, she opened her eyes to find her watch.  7:02 am. Time to get up.
Stumbling out of bed, Emily felt around for her trademark hat. It was a simple baseball cap, completely white with a black visor. She’d gotten the hat four years ago as a birthday present. It hadn’t left her head since except to sleep, or swim, or shower.
Emily quickly shrugged on some clothes. Plain grey t-shirt, black jeans, nothing fancy. She shuffled into the kitchen, opened the fridge. Poured some cereal into a big red bowl. Breakfast. Her parents were still asleep. They didn’t like the morning. Emily didn’t either, but she had school.
Soon she was out the door, trudging through the winter rain to the subway. It was the fastest way to get through the tangled streets of New York City. Sure, it wasn’t exactly glamorous, but the nearest bus stop was three blocks, and more importantly several streets, away, and her parents weren’t about to drive her. They had enough problems with traffic getting to work.
A few stations away, Emily emerged from the tunnels just to the left of P.S.29, better known as Linda Green Junior High. Nobody knew who Linda Green was. Rumor had it that the founders of the school had come up with the name as an acronym sometime in the small hours of the night, but by morning only remembered the name.
Emily was always one of the first to get to school. She hurried through the hallways to get to her locker. It wasn’t hard to spot. Over the course of the year, the locker acquired all sorts of creatively derogatory letters, rather amateur caricatures, and general insulting graffiti. Emily was quite proud of her collection.
There are always those, in every stage of life, who feel obligated to belittle others. Emily was a thoughtful girl, given to analysis. She had noticed that a large amount of the kids considered “popular” were that sort of people. Naturally, she decided she wanted to distance herself as far as possible from this. It made sense that if popular people were mean, unpopular people would be nice.

((Action coming soon, don't worry))

Change of plans

Hello again! Sorry it's been so long. Anyways, I've learned that I can't art, so Force Five is going in a new direction. The plan is that I'll write the story, and anyone can send in their artwork to go along. I'll post anything you submit, so long as it's appropriate. I'm in the middle of chapter one now, I'll upload it as soon as it's done.

Frostbite

Just finished drawing Frostbite. She's probably going to change a lot.

Sketches

Here's one of Enigma. She looks a bit fierce, that's just the Irish blood. Enigma's costume is very simple, artists aren't really much for extravagance. She'll get the rest of her legs later.

Sketches

A nicer one of Void, no hands or feet and I did awful things to her hair.

Sketches

This is a nicer one of Socket, still missing feet and her hands turned out gray.

Another sketch

Yeah, Void looks a little angry, and she doesn't have any hands or feet. Deal with it.

Character Sketches

I've been developing the characters for a while, but I just recently started actually doing something with them. I'm still purely in the planning stages, but I'll be posting sketches for a while and, with luck, eventually I'll be posting the actual comic book. Enigma, Void, and Frostbite coming soon.

Codename: Frostbite

Frostbite is the founder of Compass, and the leader of the Force Five project. However she no longer considers herself an agent of Compass, and only cooperates minimally with our division. Frostbite's powers include the ability to fly and to control the forces of cold. She also wields a sword apparently of ice that seems to be indestructible. Based on files from previous attempts, we think Frostbite may cause problems if the unstable entity is involved. She will probably resist adding him to the team's lineup.

Codename: Socket

Socket's skin has the power to interface with electronics. She currently is attempting to hack the CIA's mainframe, and we have every confidence she will succeed. We are more than slightly concerned about her, and suggest that she be told about Compass only when it becomes absolutely necessary to do so.

Codename: Spectrum

Spectrum's powers are still developing, but as of our most current information, she has the ability to produce  light beams of varying power and intensity. She is currently capable of producing all colors of the visible spectrum as well as infrared and radio waves. Spectrum has been exploring her powers by creating illusions of a holographic nature.

Codename: Enigma

Enigma has psychic powers, the extent of which are as yet unknown. She is potentially very powerful, and should be kept under surveillance for several months before agents of Compass approach her about the Force Five project.

Codename: Void

Void is a mutant with the power to absorb and reflect the powers of any opposing force, provided she can make contact with them. Void's powers require her skin to touch the adversary's skin, and her powers extend to friendlies as well as enemies.
 Project is active effective immediately
The Force Five Project must be kept secret until the world at large is ready to receive it. Priority Level Omega Red, this is to be kept in the strictest confidentiality. Unless the order to reveal Force Five comes directly from the director of Compass, nothing is to be done.
